Our story

We are a Spanish couple who moved to Germany in 2013, and have since spent almost eight years working across multiple tech startups, while also finding time in-between for our own projects, technical and otherwise.

Our passion to find and tackle new challenges led, at the end of 2020, to our decision of quitting our full-time jobs, moving back to Spain and joining forces to found Motortor.

With this enterprise, we’re hoping to partner with innovative companies that can benefit from our expertise, and from which we can keep learning and developing ourselves.

Jose García Moreno-Torres

DATA, FINANCE & STRATEGY

Jose holds a PhD in Machine Learning from the University of Granada, and has more than 8 years of experience developing applied data science in the industry, having worked both as an individual hands-on contributor, as well as a team lead and also a senior executive in high-growth startups.

His core strength lies in his ability to ensure maximum return on investment by matching his data science knowledge with a deep business understanding.

Rita Tapia Oregui

DATA SCIENCE & NLP

Rita is a data scientist with multiple years of industry experience in highly innovative and agile startups. She has leveraged her early career steps in linguistics and translation to become a great expert in the field of natural language processing.

Beyond her data science career, Rita has worked as a translator from Arabic into Spanish for some of the most important cultural institutions in Spain, founded and run a literary magazine and written both a novel and a screenplay.
